"I Have Survived"

Recently, a woman came through the doors of PCM after fleeing domestic violence. She had quickly put a few belongings into a bag, left the place she had called home, and walked away not knowing exactly what would come next. When she checked in at PCM, she found a place to sleep, a warm meal, and people ready to welcome her with compassion.
Domestic violence affects people in every community, often behind closed doors where others may never see what is happening. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to remember those who are living in fear and those who have made the difficult decision to leave an unsafe situation. For someone experiencing abuse, leaving can mean walking away from everything familiar, sometimes with very little time to prepare. For a parent, it may also mean protecting children while wondering where they will sleep, what they will eat, and what comes next.
So how can you help?
Here at PCM, we are part of the much needed support system. Our staff and volunteers are here to show kindness and compassion. A safe place to sleep, a warm meal, clean clothing, and someone willing to listen can mean more than we sometimes realize.
Our effort this month and every month is to care for people when they are at one of the lowest points in life. We cannot change what has happened to them, but we can provide a safe and caring place where they can begin taking their next steps forward.
Would you help us reach out and assist these victims of domestic abuse? Any size gift would be greatly appreciated! Your kindness and partnership make such a difference, impacting the lives of so many hurting people.
